7 Tips to Wake Up Early

Tago So

I wake up at 7:30 every morning. Sounds easy, right? I’m going to share my 7 tips to wake up early (7:30, if you can call it early).

  1. Don’t try to wake up too early. Some people try to wake up at 4:30 and fail after 2 days. Trust me, 4:30 is too early, unless you are 65+ years old.
  2. Don’t think anything. There’s no humanity in waking up early. If you start to think, “Oh, I need to wake up,” then you also start to think, “Well, do I really need to wake up?”.
  3. Wake up as fast as possible. Once you stop the alarm, the longer you stay in bed, the more difficult to wake up. Disclaimer: I’m encouraging you to jump up from the bed, but please be aware of a heart attack.
  4. Plan what you will do in the morning before bed. Wake up at 7:30, then a meeting at 11:00? You will sleep until 10:58. Why don’t you set “Read a newspaper” at 7:40? Don’t think about the importance of reading a newspaper.
  5. Be naked. The more your body touches things, the more you become sleepy. The best way is to stand up and take off pajamas.
  6. Take a shower. If you have long hair and are lazy to dry, wash your face with hot water.
  7. Imagine you go to bed at night again. You will feel a little bit better.

Let’s keep complaining about the pain of waking up. Waking up is painful, regardless it’s early or late, summer or winter, you slept for 4 hours or 8 hours. After all, there’s no way to wake up without pain ;)
